## Role in developmental screening

Directs a Head Start, child care, or preschool program serving young children and their families. Implements developmental screening as part of program quality and family engagement, balancing federal, state, or QRIS requirements with day-to-day operations. Coordinates teaching staff who administer screeners and communicate results to parents.

**Ages served:** Children ages 0-5 in centers, family child care, and Head Start.

## Role in social-emotional screening

Directs a Head Start, child care, or preschool program where social-emotional screening within 45 days of program entry is required (Head Start) or expected (QRIS, NAEYC). Uses SE screening to inform classroom strategies, family conversations, and referrals when concerns arise.
