To advance kindergarten readiness, all Kansas elementary schools are required to partner with families of incoming kindergarten students to collect kindergarten-entry data using the ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2. KSDE will be hosting “Preparing for the Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot” Zooms on August 4 at 3:30 p.m and August 5 at 10:00 a.m. to review the action items in the 2025 Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot Fact Sheet. It includes important reminders, like making sure that you have updated ASQ Online users for your buildings for the new school year and ensuring you have a plan to review incoming questionnaires and share results with families. It also includes useful resources for introducing the ASQ to families and following up to share results. This is a good time of year to double-check that your school did follow up with families who completed the ASQ in the springtime and summertime, and to make your plan to follow up with those you have not yet connected with.
Whether this is your first year completing the Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot or you have done this many times before, please do not hesitate to contact the Kansas State Department of Education for assistance. Amanda Petersen ([email protected]) and Stacy Clarke ([email protected]) would be more than happy to assist you.
