##### HELP YOUR CHILD LEARN AND GROW!

Try these fun and easy activities with your 5-year-old—a great way to have fun together and support your child’s social-emotional development.

### Great Job

Most of the time, your child will feel good about doing small jobs around the house. Give them a lot of praise when they do a good job, and tell them what a big help they are. **Materials Needed: None**

### Jokester

Tell simple jokes and riddles. Your child will love it when you laugh at their jokes – the sillier, the better. **Materials Needed: None**

### Kid’s Choice

Encourage your child to make choices as often as possible. Ask, “Do you want to go to the park or play at home?” They will like having some control over what they do. **Materials Needed: None**

### Overcoming Disagreements

Your child may need some help when they argue or disagree with a friend or sibling. Remind them to express their feelings with words and that they can come to you for help. **Materials Needed: None**

### Reading Time

Have a special time for reading each day. Talk about what happens in the story. Ask your child questions. Listen to their answers. They have a lot to share! **Materials Needed: None**

### What Are The Rules?

Encourage your child to talk about the different rules at home and at school. Talk about why there are rules. **Materials Needed: None**
