### [If a child scores below the cutoff on ASQ-3 and their parents refuse a referral to early intervention, is there a guideline for when to resume screening? Should we screen again in 2 months or resume the standard screening schedule?](https://support.agesandstages.com/kb/article/424-if-a-child-scores-below-the-cutoff-on-asq3-and-their-parents-refuse-a-referral-to-early-intervention-is-there-a-guideline-for-when-to-resume-screening-should-we-screen-again-in-2-months-or-resume-the-standard-screening-schedule/)

If the parents are agreeable, the ASQ developers recommend rescreening the child in 2-4 months. If they don’t want more frequent screening, then we recommend returning to the standard screening schedule.
